You can send the Save The Date to your guests as soon as you have the wedding date (and in some cases, the venue as well) finalized. This will allow you to block the date on your guests’ calendars well in advance. Receiving responses also gives you an initial idea about the guest count.

Once you have additional details finalized and are closer to the wedding date, you can send the final wedding invitation with a way to RSVP to confirm the final wedding guest count.
